Thousands converged in Washington, DC on January 14 to participate in the “We Shall Not Be Moved” March on Washington, staged to alert the incoming presidential administration that our community will not rest in our pursuit of voting rights, criminal justice, health care and pay equity.

At the conclusion of the march, a rally was held near the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, led by National Action Network’s Rev. Al Sharpton and featuring civil rights leaders and activists — including NAACP President Cornell William Brooks, author and professor Michael Eric Dyson, U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley (D-OR), Washington, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser, and relatives of Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner and Walter Scott.
