Mumia Ruling

Philadelphia DA Seth Williams is expected to announce Wednesday whether or not he will challenge a recent court ruling in the Mumia Abu Jamal case.
The ruling stated that the jury process was flawed and vacated the death sentence, leaving Abu Jamal with a sentence of life in prison.  The DA can either accept that ruling or challenge it in court.  The interesting part is that after 30 years, to challenge the ruling would essentially mean re-trying the sentencing phase of the trial.  This would grant Mumia Abu Jamal the opportunity to once again discuss the case and have a public court hearing that he has been seeking.  Read More from Fox 29
