Middle of Nowhere

Award-winning film director Ava Duvernay debuted her highly anticipated from Middle of Nowhere this past Friday October 12 in cities across the nation. 900AM has been assisting to promote the most thought-provoking film yet about families dealing with incarcerated loved ones. Our programming in the weeks leading up to the film’s release has helped to dissect how critical the movie is not only to Black cinema, but it also the economic and mental problems that exist. The Mid-Morning Mojo with host Stef Renee highlighted the film’s legislative influence on FCC regulations. On Night Al, Al B! interviewed lead Actors Omari Hardwick (podcast here), Emayatzy Corinealdi and the film director herself Ava Duvernay (podcast here). And, Health Quest Live hosted by Sara Lomax Reese talked about the mental health implications of dealing with incarcerated loves ones  (see podcast here).

Opening night proved to be a success with the highest per-screen average of any movie playing this past weekend! If you’re in Philadelphia, check out the screening at UA Riverview Stadium 17 here.
